2025 CAR-nival Autosolo

Saturday 7th June 2025

As a part of The Abingdon Motorsport CAR-nival Weekend (which has raised over £800,000), a large element of the event is based around raising money for good causes and this year in addition to The Friends of Stowford (Charity No 1089136), we raised funds for the direct welfare of those stationed within Dalton Barracks.

Autosolos are a great form of grass-roots motorsport, the Abingdon CAR-nival is considered to be one of the most testing events in the country.  There are 2 levels of event, a ‘National B’ event for experienced licence holders and championship contenders whilst there is also a ‘Clubman’ event for those just starting out.

There’s no need for safety helmets or special clothing so all you need is a suitable car and a willingness to have fun…

Apart from the Solo, the CAR-nival weekend also features sprinting and stage rallying, whilst it is thought over 1,000 stay for the weekend,  camping and caravans free of charge.

The Abingdon Motorsport Carnival, now in its 28th year,  is stronger than ever. This year saw the 26th running of the Autosolo and with each year the event seems to get bigger, better.

Newbury Dolphin Motor Club had the pleasure to run the Autosolo at CAR-nival once again and like fine wine, it gets better every year.

The CAR-nival Autosolo event counted towards four championships; BTRDA Autosolo Championship, BTRDA Allrounders Championship, The B.P.Motor Body Builders & Engineers Ltd CMSG Autosolo Championship and the ACSMC Autosolo Championship and is a popular part of the Abingdon weekend and in 2024 it hosted the last ever Annual Inter-Association Championship, won by the ANWCC.

There were 54 competitors taking part in the tests held on the cross runway to the South of the event Marque with Jamie Yapp claiming the overall win in his Renault Clio 172 Cup.
